Why should you choose style over trends?

Let’s start with a little reminder, shall we? Trends are fleeting by nature - a craze or a fad that gains rapid popularity and is widely adopted by a large group of people. Setting a trend means creating something that others quickly embrace, replicate, and eventually move on from. Trends, while exciting, are like waves: they rise, crash, and fade into memory.

Now, let’s talk about style.
For me, style is identity. Style is personal - it isn’t dictated by what’s in or out. It’s a reflection of who you are: your present, your past, your lifestyle, your body, your story. Style is what makes you unique, and that’s why I believe it can never be reduced to fleeting trends.
As the legendary Karl Lagerfeld once said, “Trendy is the last stage before tacky.” When something becomes too trendy, it risks losing its charm, originality, and meaning.
You can’t truly speak of style when you dress like everyone else, copying the current trends without adding a personal touch. Each person is different, and their individuality deserves to shine. Wearing what’s trendy without considering what suits you, your body, and your essence is like blending into a sea of sameness. And, when you try to be like everyone else, aren’t you, in a way, becoming no one at all?
Why choose style over trends?
Because style is timeless. It’s yours. It’s about expressing yourself authentically rather than conforming to the moment. Trends come and go, but a strong sense of style remains your signature, a reflection of your true self.
So, the next time you’re tempted to follow a trend, pause and ask yourself: Does this speak to who I am? Does it align with my identity? If the answer is no, step back, and craft a look that’s all your own.
Fashion is a language; use it to tell your story, not someone else’s.
